  1. Unable to unlock a VOB file using Smart Ripper. It appears to successfully see all the files but cannot unlock one file? Using a x8 speed DVD drive. could it be the drive, software or the DVD itself?

  2. Firstly it would be good to know what version of windows you are using!
The type of problem you are having is common with windows XP users. With windows XP it does not have any built in ASPI drivers so therefore it is unable to unlock the files on the dvd in smart ripper. If i am right and you are using windows XP try downloading the ASPI device drivers and this should fix your problem.

    BHQ

  3. Running Windows ME (this is for a friend not myself). I will give this friend the ASPI Drivers which i recieved recently and see if they work, any other reasons why this would happen though?

Do a search for ForceASPI I do think it's in Doom9.org's site too.

Also, before you rip the movie, open it up in your software player and let it play for 30 seconds. Shut down your player, then boot up SmartRipper. The player will open the volume......

  7. I have XP and wnaspi32.dll and Wnaspi32.w98.dll are the 2 aspi's i have to run 'dvd decrypter' but  BEWARE  I tried to force aspi and my disk drives became very choosy about what cds they would see and i ended up formatting because aspi is hard to properly uninstall, The uninstall that comes with it doesnt work well with xp.
I got around the whole problem by actually finding the two dll's above and instead of installing them I put them in the folder with the dvd decrypter and nothing else
