  1. I rented Two Can Play That Game and ripped it with Smart Ripper. I am trying to use DVDx now using the guide found at
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=78732

but unfortunately, it only works for abut ten minutes (83Mb) of the movie before I get an error, viewable here:
    http://www.geocities.com/wsp_entertainment/dvdxerror.JPG

If for some reason you cannot view the image, the error says:
    DVDx Error
    MPEG2Dec: Too much sample.
Try other frame rate or change 'Detect/Force 24Hz' flag.

I went back and first took off the checked "Detect 24Hz flag but left the framerate at 29.97 (NTSC). When I got the same error message ten minutes later, I changed the frame rate to 23 (NTSC) and tried again. I got another error message about a different output than the input.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it? I rented this movie and Election and would like to be able to rip them before they are due back. I've been trying to find these for months on P2P programs with no luck.

    Help.

    Thanks,

  2. This has happened to me on nearly all of my NTSC dvd's DVDx has a problem with 29fps dvd's & no matter how many times U try a different combination of settings it wont work honest. In the end I had to rip using tmpeg or flask to get my dvd done. DVDx is great for pal & ntsc film but anything else it really does not work 2 well. I have no solution to your question but a good answer use Tmpeg to rip movies in 29fps.

list of films that wont rip...

    A knights Tale
    The stand
    Training day
    Americas Sweethearts
    Final Fantasy
    Scary Movie 2

This just cant be me if U have the same bother... especially when I've tried other versions of DVDx & I get the same answer..

    Kev!
