Hi,
I've build myself to build a small-budget hd recorder and now experience a weird problem.
The specs are as follows:
PC: Smart MSP-01 (basically a ASUS Pundit-S) Celeron 2GHz, 512MB
OS: XP SP3
TV-Capture Card: NVIDIA NVTV single Tuner
Capture Software: NVIDIA Forceware Multimedia 3.2.22 (the card apparently runs ONLY with this software)
Now the basics are all working, I can watch TV and record as MPEG-2 (the card has a Hardware encoder).
Here is the problem: when running Forceware Multimedia first time after booting it selects the last
used TV channel and I get both picture and sound as I should. BUT, on each subsequent start of the
software, there is no sound! I have to change channel at least once to get sound again.
Now that effectively kills scheduled recordings because I would only ever get sound on the first
recording, the next recordings would be muted.
A real showstopper for the purpose of the box.
Has anyone get any ideas what would cause this?
I already tried, for testing purposes, to disable/enable the sound device in Device Manager and to
stop/restart the Windows Audio service, all to no avail. The sound in Forceware Multimedia only
works once, after that only a channel switch will bring it back.
Would be very grateful for any suggestions!
