OK so here it goes. I have a MKV file with selectable subtitles, and 2 audio tracks (one japanese, one english). I'm trying to burn the subtitles into the video, which it does, however they're all the way at the bottom of the screen where I know they wont be viewable on a TV. I just want to move them up a little bit. Whatever I enter in the position field (using XVID mencoder mode) makes no difference in the final result. They're still all the way at the bottom. It works fine in preview mode, but doesn't do a damn thing to the encoded video. Also the font size setting does nothing as well be cause truthfully the text is a little small. I would just letterbox the video to compensate rather than moving the subtitles, but there's no option to. Only FFmpeg mode seems to have a letterbox opton, but it doesn't allow me to burn subtitles into the video (at least as far as I can see). Is this a bug?

There seems to be a bug in the later versions of mencoder, when it comes to subtitles. Reverting to an older version seems to bring back control.
