I just ran AnyDVD w/ CloneDVD and found it disappointing. It has where you can choose the main movie, but there is no way to edit. I only want English audio w/ English subtitles. There is no way to edit with CloneDVD. Or is there? Let me know, thanks.

try CloneDvd2 by slysoft works great.
I usually use dvd shrink or CloneDvd2 with anydvd in the background for dvd, from start to haveing it on my hard drives takes under 6 minutes, then another 4 or 5 minutes to burn it useing ImgBurn. I rip to iso to my harddrive.

I tried DvdFab BluRay yesterday it took over 3 hours to have the files on my harddrive SLOWWWW, I then used what I have always used AnyDvd-BDInfo-txMuxer-ImgBurn, with the same blu ray disc and was finished in just over 1 hour, (+Disc burning time) .I have hered talk of slysoft comeing out with something like CloneBluRay, Cant wait.
SlySoft Products Is the best way to go , in my opinion.

Gee thanks, rottweiler62 for joining this forum just to reopen a month-old thread to endorse (advertise?) an overpriced (IMO) product.

Thank You for your warm welcome, I take it you are not useing the overpriced slysoft products, seeing you can purchase with a lifetime of updates and it works perfectly, how can anyone say it is overpriced?
anyway I must have read the title to this post wrong I thought it was to be about views on what users liked to use for backing up their disc collection?
I guess I better not talk (advertise) how dvdfab is also a good tool, for dvd backup.
    Bark at you all later

You may or may not be aware that the ripping part of DVDFab (better known as DVDFab HD Decrypter) is a free tool -- with a lifetime of updates -- and also works perfectly. (Well, "perfectly" is a subjective word, but I'll just say I'm pleased as punch with it.) I'd rather keep the fifty bucks in my pocket. When we consider the "best" tools, we take into consideration the "biggest bang for the buck."

And yes, as you surmised, there's not a single Slysoft product that's impressed me enough to lay out a dime, considering you can do the very same things with freeware.

Yes I have used DVDFab Decrypter a few times before , when anydvd would not work with a new realese dvd,(anydvd had not added support for that relase untile later that week) and it worked good.
as for bluray I was trying the tryal version of DVDFab bluray to bluray, possiabley it was because it was a tryal version is why it is so slow with bluray, 3 + hours is not a option, when it can be done in just over a hour. the cost of it is $72.80 which if I could be sure the speed was at least close to useing anydvd and the other FREE tools I mentioned, for bluray, I would give it a go.
Would be nice to use only one tool for bluray.
I will give the free version a try and see if it does anybetter with bluray.
correct me if I am wrong, but I dont belive their is anyway DVDFab will allow a user to watch a encrypted disc on a non HDCP compliant tv like anydvd can. with out going through the ripping prosess ,which I am sure is very important to many HTPC owners who do not have a HDCP Display, And would like to view their purchased or rented BluRay or HD Disc's, with out ripping, which if rented , is a big no no anyway.
You must be a pitbull , the way we disagree LOL. :P

I wasn't commenting on anydvd. My comparisons were between DVDFab and CloneDVD2. For people new to ripping, it is always best to try out the free options (especially software vetted on this site and listed in the Tools section here) before shelling out bucks for an application that is no way superior.

No one's looking for an argument. Just trying to offer the best and least costly advice to people who are seeking help.

Your problem is a case of user error. You can select the Copy DVD Titles or Clone DVD options which both will copy the movie but with Copy DVD Titles only the longest title is selected by default and this would be for a movie-only backup. If you select Clone DVD then all titles will be selected. Using either option you can then select or deselect any video titles, audio streams, and sub-titles that you like.

  9. all i can say to everything else typed in here, you will not get a better "all in one" ripping and conversion tool than DVDFab 6.0 period

dvd decrypter is a great ripping tool, but it cant do what the free FAB hd decrypter does and thats common knowledge.

i can even import any video file into DVDFab 6.0 and output to a generic/mobile format and i love the way it can output to Xvid and H264 mp3 or audiocopy formats, you cant do this shit using any other ripping tool that i know of.

tis a ripper of a program and yeah, it is the best (still)
