If you already paid for Vista would a price break on Windows 7 be too much to ask? When pigs fly.

	Microsoft owes you nothing

They are a for profit company and they are trying to claw back money that was spent on research, and marketing.Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

Your commentary on the article suggests a discount but the article is talking about a completely free upgrade. The former is reasonable - and current practice - but the latter is absurd.

If you don't like Vista and still have XP then just wait. But Win7 will receive all the usual analyst BS that Vista, XP, 2K etc did before it.John Miller

The article only referenced Vista "Ulitmate" that was an extra cost option over the typically shipped Vista "Premium". The claim is Microsoft never delivered the features advertised for "Ultimate".

I think there should be a single upgrade price to maintain your version. Premium Vista users get Premium Windows 7. Ultimate Vista users should get Ultimate Windows 7. Those that want to upgrade from Premium to Ultimate should pay extra.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
