    he meant ripping those ill-fated Divx DVDs that circuit city was pushing for a few years back

    from what i hear the protection those Divx DVDs is like the Fort Knox of Media. makes CSS look like BASIC programming. i read somewhere that it is possible, but to do so you must learn the code from scratch and crack it yourself, and there isn't just 1 layer, it's like 3 layers of protection. not sure of all the facts above but it's something insane like that.

    In summary:
    "Is it do-able?" - Yes.
    "Is it worth it?" - No, guy buy/rent a DVD and rip.
