I've been HIRED by a friend of the family to convert some old VHS tapes using my Vegas6.0 plus DVD-Arch4.5.
My main source of video input on my WindowsXP computer is my IEEE1394Firewire
My requirements is that the converter must have S-Video plus L+R Audio IN and IEEE1394Firewire OUT. It must be compatible and completely recognized by my Vegas6.0 program.
I'm looking at the Canopus ADVC110 for around $200 on Amazon.
Anything better than this Canopus product for that price-point?
I heard Dazzle converter can be really "buggy"
I've never dabbled with converters so I need your ADVICE!
Thanks, Jim

The Canopus is king. I used the ADVC-110 myself to convert all my analog home movies. Accept no substitute.

Totally agree -- Canopus converters do a superb job.
If you only need to convert from Analogue to DV, and not the reverse, why not look at the ADVC55 instead? Should be able to find it quite a bit cheaper. -
You can also look at the ADS PYRO A/V Link. It is extremely similar to the Canopus.
