The VOB files I have ripped off Titan A.E have no sound! I followed Sefy's Classcial ripping guide correctly. Got any ideas?

  2. did you enable stream processing during the rip? otherwise, the audio tracks are there & the problem lies with your playing software

Hmm what does stream processing do anyways? I read in Sefy's guide that you don't need stream process. BTW, when I saved it as a project in DVD2AVI there was no audio part just the video d2v file.

  5. Make sure you have Stream Processing OFF in Smartripper. Just save the VOB files to your drive and then run DVD2AVI. In DVD2AVI make sure in the sound is set to Track 1, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital-Decode. That should work flawless. Also after you have ripped the VOB files off the disc, play the Vob's in a software player before continuing on with the encoding to make sure it plays the video and sound. Let me know if this works for you.

I just ripped Titan A.E again and I made sure Stream Processing was off. But that didn't help, the VOB files I played still don't have sound and the DVD2AVI is still missing the Audio part. Oh yeah I ripped other DVDs before and those VOB files work so I think my PowerDVD works fine.

  7. The audio on this DVD, it isn't DTS by any chance is it? If it is DTS, DVD2AVI won't be able to create an audio file from it.

Gah yes this DVD has a DTS English. What the heck is DTS? Does this explain why when I play the VOBS files that they got no sound?

  9. DTS = digital theatre sound.

There is no method I am aware of of converting DTS audio into anything else on your PC.

However, if this is a movie, it will almost certainly have another soundtrack on the DVD in Dolby Digital... certainly, my copy of Titan AE (R4 PAL) does.

Hmm I see a English 5.1 Surround and a English Dolby Surround on the back of the cover. But how do I ripped those instead of the DTS and which one is better?

  11. Ok then in this case, USE Stream Processing and uncheck everything other than the video portion at the top and English 5.1 DD and then rip the movie. Rip the audio to seperate file and then open DVD2AVI and encode the video portion. Then Load the d2v file and for the audio portion load the file Smartripper created.

  12. blah....just rip the movie normally.....once you've loaded the vobs into dvd2avi, just use the preview button (f5) in dvd2avi to preview the video/audio. for audio, you can only decode dolby digital (DD)...so basically, find a track (under audio dropdown menu in dvd2avi) that has DD in it (also, make sure it's english by playing the .wav file before you start encoding)

  13. Latest version of DVD2AVI v1.75 build 1.86 now has DTS to WAV processing!
