I'd like to set up a computer to automatically play a video file each and every day at the same time. The rest of the time I'd want the computer screen blank, therefore I would need the video to "wake up" the computer, without any operator input. Is there any software available that can do this? I am trying to set something up that will guide my elderly mother through her daily exercises. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks much.

nrvsysdc, you would get more answers if you clearly state your problem in the subject line as our rules request.
Changing yours. And moving this to the Computer Forum as it is more a computer problem.

    And welcome to our forums.

Under Accessories -> System Tools you will find the scheduler. You can use this to set up two jobs. The first would be to play a video at a scheduled time. The second would be to put the system into hibernation after the video has played. You will have to use hibernation (or perhaps sleep mode, if you have no passwords set on the account) so it can be woken up. If the PC is shutdown, the scheduler will have no effect.

The command you will have to use for hibernate is

    "rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState"

The command you will need to play the video will be dependent on the player you use.

Thanks for moving this to the proper forum, and thanks gunslinger for the reply. I'm not that experienced, but I'll try to make this work. Thanks again.
