  1. Im new here and just signed up. I want a shot where some one picks a dead rose off a rose bush, but after they pick it and while they are holding it, the rose comes to life and is in full bloom again.

How can I achieve this shot? I have tried shooting someone picking a dead rose, then shooting a 2nd shot of them picking a live rose and morphed the 2 shots together. I just did this real quick to see if it would work and did not put much time into it, but it looks promising if I actually spent some time on morphing it correctly.

However, just want to ask on here and get other ideas, if any.

Also, the rose is being picked in the winter time, and its summer here. So I was going to use photographs and build a 3D world out of 2D planes of a winter scene in Motion. Then add a photo of a rose bush. Is there any techniques that I can make the rose look like it is part of the rose bush seamlessly?

Or if I am way off, and there is a much easier way to achieve this shot, Im open to any suggestions.

    Thanks

I think you would achieve better results by staging the dead rosebush in a winter scene or in front of green screen "in studio". Take the shot of picking the rose from several feet away and then switch to a close up for the dead rose coming back to life against an out of focus background. This should make more realistic movement from the bush as the rose is picked, and keep the morphing process easier to control. By drilling into the stem of the rose and bush at the break point and inserting a small piece of toothpick, you could shoot the scene repeatedly and "break" the rose stem each time.
