  1. ok, i have brought a vcd, i stick it in my cd drive and after a few secs i am presented with a folder...which contains a further 5 folders:

    CDI - contains CDI_BUM.dat, CDI_FONT.fnt, CDI_VCD.APP
    EXT - contains LOT_X.VCD, PSD_X.VCD
    MPEGAV - conatains AVSEQ01.dat, AVSEQ02.dat, AVSEQ03.dat, AVSEQ04.dat
    SEGMENT - contains ITEM0001.dat, ITEM0002.dat
    VCD - contains ENTRIES.VCD, INFO.VCD, LOT.VCD, PSD.VCD

    Now wot am i supposed to do with this, it wont work with Media Player, WinDVD, PowerDVd.....I have windows XP, and have never tried a VCD before....i tried that VCDGear thing to convert the dat files to mpegs but couldnt.....wot do i do, and which are the important dat files...??

    Please help!!

  5. Open Windows Media Player and File | Open from the menu. Go to the MPEGAV directory on the CD. Under the "Files of Type" box select "All Files (*.*)". You should now see your four DAT files.

    Click one (AVSEQ01.dat for example) and then click open.

  7. If you have PowerDVD, load it up. In the settings/configuration, change the CD/DVD drive to the drive you are going to put the VCD in (if it isn't already set correctly).

    Put the VCD in.

    Press play if it doesn't start automatically.

    If PowerDVD doesn't recognise it as a VCD, there may be a problem with the disc.
