No audio with Media Player Classic

I have been using MPC on my computer for a long time now and the other day the audio on any file I try to watch does not work. I have checked to see if anything it muting it from the inside and it does seem to be the case. When I open video files with something else I get the audio. If anyone knows what is going on and could help it would be much appreciated.

Have you checked the output settings? under view->options->playback->output and under directshow audio? It should say system default or try other outputs.

It could also be some filter, while playing the video under Play->Filters->Audio decoder/etc and see if you can adjust output settings.
