ok so Last night my Wired through linksys router internet worked fine. Today turn on pc and no internet? I tried cycling down (Unplug moden/router/pc->turnon modem/router/pc), and NADA. Today when I looked in the network connections. There was a internet connection gateway icon there that was never there before. Under the icon it says internet connection disabled. I tried to enable it but it would just revert back to disabled. Any ideas how to get my internet back up. because Im stumped
I ran IPCONFIG/All an got this

Why don't you try a system restore and go back 2 or 3 days - before the problem started.

bypass the router and connect directly to the modem. the router appears to be non-functional.

Are you using the same router for a wireless connection? Are you connected to the internet right now through the same modem, and are you using a different PC?

Hey, I don't know if this is the same kind of problem, but one that I've been having lately has been that on my self-built Monster Desktop PC, I've been getting "network cable unplugged" and "unable to connect to network" messages. The cable is a known good cable, the router is on and is working fine for both wireless and other (occasionally) wired PCs.
A reboot not only won't change things, but if you go into BIOS/CMOS configuration during POST, it shows NO NETWORK ADAPTER! (It's on the MOBO), and no way to refind and re-enable it.
Guess what I tried that seemed to fix it (and this was repeatable, regardless of any other factors that may be influencing the outcome)...
I powered down, and unplugged the power cable (so it wasn't just a reboot or shutdown), and let it sit for a few minutes. That's it.
Came back up fine!
Now, I believe one of the things that was making it continue to occasionally be disabled was probably OVERHEATING.
But the fix worked.
Hope that helps,
Scott -
I've had that problem a few times I don't know why. A system restore fixes it every time

System restore didn't do the job this time. It usually does for me though. I tried going directly from the modem to the PC, and stll nothing. Had my pal from comcast stop by and it indeed was the modem. Got a new one and now alls good. Thanks for all the replys...
