HI,

I'm trying to capture DV via an ADS Pyro Firewire card and create SVCDs and XSVCDs. I have a Sony DCR-PC100 camcorder. I run Win2k on a P4 system w/256k RDRAM and plenty of HD space, twin 60gig IBM 60GXPs in a RAID-0 setup. My AVI files have a large degree a pixelization when blown up in full screen mode on my PC and as a result seem to generate poor video quality MPEGS. I have a few different codecs installed on my PC :Cinepak, Huffyuv, Ligos, MSFT RLE. I've been capturing via Premiere 6.0 using the NTSC 720x480 standard DV/IEEE preset. I'm not sure which codec is being used. How do I select?? The AVI files look very poor when compared to the direct playback from my Camcorder to my TV. The pixelization is very noticable. Is this from additional compression?? LSX-MPEG 3.5 encoder says that my AVI are compressed at 9:1. If this is the problem, is there a way to uncompress the AVI to get rid of the pixelization?? Do I need a better DV FireWire card?? Looking for some help, please. This seems to be a huge road block for me right now. I think I have a good handle on the rest of the proceses to get going on making SVCDs. I just need to clean up the video to make it viewable.

Thank to all that reply,
