    Hi Guys

New to the site and new to video and looking for some help and tips

Just bought a HD Video Camera, its a Panasonic HDC-SD100, trouble is neither of my stand alone DVD or Blue Ray playes will play the AVCHD Discs the the supplied software produces (HD Writer) and although I have a Blue Ray writer the supplied software does not support AVCHD Files (Cyberlink Power Producer)

So I either need software that will Convert the AVCHD File to a format that Power Producer can use or Blue Ray software that can use the native AVCHD File.

    Any help on this

    Thanks

    Paul

DVD Players doesn't support any avchd and some blu-ray players doesn't support avchd.

Strange that the supplied software doesn't support avchd...maybe try Tmpgenc Authoring Works.

    Title edited

The supplied software does support AVCHD and it writes them to DVD but the Disc will only play on my PC.

What I want to do is Convert the AVCHD files from the Camera to work in my Blue-ray player in full HD.

Told you I was new at this. LOL

Welcome Paul-H, but like many newbies, you erroneously think that the less you say, the more help you will get. The opposite is true. At no point do you tell us what you BluRay standalone players are. Some are known to not support AVCHD. Some require special settings to make it work. A few may not ever play BluRay video on DVD media no matter what you do.

There's a big thread somewhere in the forums at http:.//www.doom9.net about various BluRay players, if they will support AVCHD, and what you had to do to make it work. Some have had success with using tsmuxer to generate BluRay output and not AVCHD output.

I have an extremely negative opinion of Cyberlink and all of their products and the fact that you are married to Power Producer is a big negative for you. It may stop you from getting this working. If you really and truly want to make a disc you can play on your BluRay player, assuming your player will even support this, you're surely going to have to drop Power Producer. The only tools that work are either bare bones free programs like tsmuxer or you'll have to pay sky high prices for a professional tool that might be able to do the job.

The Blue Ray player I have is a Logic LBD1000 (Don't laugh)

The Blue Ray Recorder is an LG GGWH20L

I know the Player dosent support AVCHD so was just wanting to convert the AVCHD file produced by the camera to a Blue Ray compatible file. which I could then write to the Blue Ray disc

If the Cyberlink software is no good what would you recomend.

    Thanks for you help

Well, I mentioned tsmuxer and I said it generates BluRay output, which seems to be what you will need.
