  1. When I attemp to cut out a section of my home video I use the split and then cut away the end (or beginning) but things get out of sync. The video track and audio track get out of line and things get really messed up. Also when I play it back the section I cut is still there! Is it this hard to use or am I missing sonething. I am following the help demo. I am just using the demo to see if I want to buy it. Thanks

  2. Well I guess nobody uses Video Factory much. How about Vegas Video? Same type of cuts, splits, etc.? I might spring for VV if they offered another special, but I prefer to get some feedback on Video Factory first.
    Thanks

Whenever I've done it in Vegas, you need to split both tracks at once. In the top middle of the toolbar, there's a blockish type icon that lets you drag your cursor over all the tracks. Then you go into them and hit "S" to split them. Do this on both sides, then click on the selected area and delete the frames.

Also, if this won't transfer to Video Factory. Try frameserving in Virtual Dub to TMPG. You can edit it up delete frames very easily in Vdub. See http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubframeserve.htm

Otherwise, you're gonna have to do some digging in the Vid Fact manual and find out how to do multi-track editing at once (like in Vegas)
