PLEASE wait a couple of days before you bump/reply the topic. And this is not any video streaming, moving you to our conversion forum.

Use instead handbrake to convert your mkv to avi. It shouldn't add any subs.

Just extract the subs from the mkv using mkvextracgui and then name the subtitle file the same as the avi, like video.avi and video.srt. Play it with VLC Media player and subs should appear or install vsfilter and play with vsfilter.

    or

I guess you have mkvs with hd video and they require a fast cpu...but be sure to TRY play using mpc-hc or smplayer or mpc with coreavc.

So it seems that with smplayer I'll no longer have any need to convert mkv's to avi, So far from what ive seen it plays mkv's with no problem at all.

SUPERB! But it might not work that fine with all mkvs though.

biogenesis, we are fairly strict here also concerning copyright infringement. If it's determined that you are asking about copyrighted material, then you may face a ban. Please read our rules before posting.

It's an anime fan sub, if I'm gonna be banned for asking how to go about converting h264 format and how to deal with the error; using the suggested program hand brake; Then, what ever? I don't really care if I'm banned, But I don't see what proof there is of me posting any 'copyrighted material'. The other forum was just being rude, There strictness is just insane; you have to word your posts the way they want you to or not at all and if it doesn't meet there standards they ignore your post and or ban you from there forums. The post which i posted on the hand brake forums had the same link in it i posted above; They emailed me saying I posted a link to something that was a copy right violation; pretty much. Then I re posted the same message but instead of posting a link, I typed out the error message i was getting, and they banned me. Why did they even bother making a forum?.
