I would like to extract snippets of audio from an m2ts file or record certain parts of audio, either way is fine.
However, in VLC with m2ts files, whenever you try and change the audio device from 5.1 to Stereo, VLC crashes and I'm forced to close the program, I have re-installed and installed the latest version and any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Play with something else? mpc-hc and then record the audio.
Or try tsmuxer to extract the audio, open m2ts,
under input and tracks just choose the ac3 track
under output choose demux
start demux.
And you will get an ac3 track that you can try edit in goldwave or maybe audacity.
Or maybe possible with avidemux, open m2ts, set start and stop, audio->demux. -
Hey, although not ideal, the media player you suggested to start with seems to work just fine and plays stereo audio without tampering with any settings, thanks for your help as always.
