    I have downloaded latest gui's for
    vcdimager.

    But I still don't know how to create
    that standalone still image *.mpg file
    so vcdimager will use it for menu screen.

    Any help is appreciated!!!

    Try :
    1) Open your BMP image with Paint and save as JPG
    2) Open your now JPG image with TMPEnc , select VCD or SVCD template
    3) Save it as MPG
