I have a small room and I have to view DVDs froma ll over the world - including NTSC and PAL.
Does anyone make a region free LCD TV/DVD combo that is region free and multi system?
I am in NTSC land - the US.

How small of a TV screen can you tolerate? There are portable multi-standard, multi-region DVD players like the Philips PET831 (which has an 8.5-inch screen and costs a whopping $350) or the Acoustic Researcb SBP-101 (7-inch screen at around $160). As for bigger combos, someone else will have to chime in.

There's no such thing as a TV/DVD combo player that can be made region free. If you doubt me, try to find one. Unless I've missed something, we've never had a post here referring to one that could be made region free. Combo players of any kind (DVD/TV, DVD/VCR,etc.) are notorious for not being able to be made region free. filmboss80's suggestions are for portable players with small screens, which is not exactly what you asked about, but it might meet your needs as it may be all you can get.

I discourage people from getting TV/DVD combo units as the DVD player will surely go bad after a couple of years and you'll have to throw the stupid combo unit out and buy a new one or another DVD player anyway. Might as well just buy separate ones to begin with.

There is one on Amazon, but in the UK!! It doesn't say whether it is NTSC/PAL, but has upscaled inbuilt multi region dvd player. Model Sovos SVTV22D.
I have just bought a combi and would like a hack but looking on the forum, it doesn't seem possible.

    Regards

Might be simpler to rip the disc with dvdfabhddecrypter (thus eliminating the region and other protections), shrink with dvd-rb or dvdshrink if necessary, then burn to a blank dvd (or dvd-rw if you are that short on space and can't spare the room for a few extra discs).

    -edit
Of course your dvd player will still need to be able to handle pal but most cheap dvd players can, but at least then the region wont be an issue anymore.

I have a TCL TD1410 Combo DVD/TV for region 2. I need to unlock the region code so I can watch my films from the states. Anyone have any suggested means of implementing this?

No. DVD/TV combo players are almost impossible to be made region free. Since I made my previous post I think someone elsewhere posted about one that could be made region free, but it's generally impossible to do this.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to buy a cheap DVD player and make it all region.
