What programm i can use for editing HD files???

Hi people
I got a problem. I have source files (.mkv 1920x1080) and i want to edit them for creaating also HD videoclips with the same type .mkv. I`ve tried already ADOBE PREMIERE CS4 and SONY VEGAS 8, but both of them do not read .mkv. Please show me a programm whitch can edit matroshka files. Mutch respect

Repackage the content into either an .mp4 or .m2ts container (no encoding necessary, most likely) and then try loading them. TSMuxer or Xvid4PSP can do this.

i have xvid4psp and what should i set up for repackaging in window CONVERTING VIDEO, there is a lot of preasets but i think i need the option COPY - right?

Choose .mp4 or .m2ts as the output, and for Video and Audio select Copy. This will just remux the content to the new package without re-encoding.
