What is the optimal Windows resolution for viewing 720p and 1080 MKV videos?
For example, if I'm watching a 720p video .... do I need to set Windows resolution to 1280 X 720?
Same question for watching 1080 videos...do I need to set Windows resolution to 1920 X 1080?
I have tried changing resolution for different videos, but don't notice any difference in quality.
BTW, I have my HDTV connected to PC via PC/VGA port (worked better for me than DVI-HDMI). My max resolution is 1360 X 768 due to the VGA port limitation, which is fine by me.
Thanks.

Leave Windows at your monitor's/TV's native resolution. If you set Windows to some other resolution the monitor/TV will resize the frame back to its native resolution anyway. So you can't avoid a resizing.

Well, you might find minor differences depending on which scales better -- your graphics card or your TV.
