  1. For vhelp,

    my source is minidv tapes. No other processing done, just a transfert from the tape to computer.

    1. Camcorder: Sony DCR-HC62E (PAL), Camcorder set in "automatic" mode.
    2. Tapes: Sony Premium DV (recorded in SP mode).
    3. Transfert with WinDv to the Firewire port of my Motherboard
    4. I cut the sample with VDub (in direct stream copy of course)


    Whats the OP ?????

    I noticed the video is a bit shaky. Perhaps some kind of stabilizing filter could improve the compression. Perhaps you can use DePanStabilize filter:

    Reducing some details in the picture may help too, like resizing it to 352 pixels width (and then upsize it again if needed to be joined with full size video). Use a "high compression" matrix like "jahwor 1 CD" may help too.

  6. cd090580 is it possible the cam was set in widescreen auto mode? if you assume w.s. and encode the sample it looks fine.
