A few minutes ago, my computer decided to shut itself off out of nowhere, then i started hearing this series of beeps coming from the APC surge adapter with the green light turining on and off.

You may have gotten a major power surge, or your surge protector failed. Were you able to get the PC running again? Some surge protectors self destruct when they get a surge, but usually they have a red light in that case. Not really familiar with APC. My Uninterruptible Power Supply beeps when it loses power from the AC line. But it switches over to battery backup power then.

I would check the APC site and see if they will tell you the meaning of the flashing lights. http://www.apcguard.com/default.asp

What's the model of your APC? Other's here may have the same unit and be able to give better advice.

No i haven't been able to turn it back on, and everything else in the house is working fine so it couldnl't have been a power surge.

Get a cheap power board with spike filtering to test pc is fine.

Common faults with apc units are battery failure and the reset power switch in the back burnt out ... its usually cheaper to replace the unit then to pay for repairs / replacement parts.
