O.k..I have another question about speed.
Is it faster to convert a source that is on the harddrive than it is to convert a source that is saved on a CDR?

yes and no, it would depend on your system, as a rule I would say no, no conversion is fast enough to tax the read and write speed of either a cdrom or hard drive.
