    Hello,

I use a Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 Handycam. When I shoot my home movies there isn't an option to turn off the built-in mic. I'd like to shoot some video without sound. Or is it possible to somehow remove the sound trac from the resulting MP3 files the camcorder creates? I use Nero to burn DVDs and can add background tracks to the video but when the video track in in the video file is there a way to disable the audio or remove it?

    Thanks,

    John

mp3 files? mp3 is just audio.

I'm pretty sure it captures in mpeg2. So try rename the file to video.mpg and then demultiplex it to video and audio files using for example tmpgenc(under file->mpeg tools->simple demultiplexer) or tsremux(open video file, just check the video track, choose the demux checkbox, start muxing). Import the new video file in nero

  4. DGIndex (File=>save project & demux audio). This will give you an elementary .m2v video and audio. I don't know if nero accepts elementary video files
