    In that case, it seems the correct solution is to do no framerate converting with DVD Flick or DVD player. Just let the TV do the "converting".

    But, as noted, you will have 3:2 judder on top of the normal jerkiness of 24 fps film. 25 fps viewed at 50 fields per second will be slightly smoother because you'll only have the inherent jerkiness of 25 fps.

    The inherent jerkiness of 24 or 25 fps won't be very noticeable on the test clip you posted, the motions are too small. Find a bright, high contrast, medium speed, panning shot. It will appear jerky or flickery. This is easily seen on TV or in the movie theater.
