I have been working all day on this, I've tried converting mp4-DVD, AVI-DVD, and MOV-DVD but when it encodes it the file it give me is something like video.mov.ff.m2v rather than something like video_TS with the correct files inside.
Also, in the tools -> author tab I have selected: Author as: DVD Video_TS.
If anyone can help me make the video_TS files woud be greatly appreaciated.

A .m2v extension is for the video stream. Apparently, ffmpegx never made it to converting the audio stream, which is why the program terminates without creating a VIDEO_TS folder. Either the video stream has a problem that made ffmpegx choke, or the audio is in a format that ffmpegx doesn't support. If the .m2v has all of the video expected (you can view it with, say, VLC), then the problem is likely the latter.

What does ffmpegx say about the source audio stream (in the summary window)? Better yet, post the contents of the logfile (click on the blue "i" in the Progress window when you are attempting to convert). Much useful information is to be found there.

The file wouldn't load in quicktime but I'm not sure about VLC. I don't currently have that file or the log anymore but I'm reencoding it now so I'll reply with the log if it doesn't work.
