I was wondering if there is anything other than windvd 9 or powerdvd for playing BD movies. With powerdvd I'm not to thrilled with the interface since I can't use the mouse to move around the disc option just the keyboard. I keep getting stupid errors with windvd 9, like the disc is not compatible with the player when I just played the disc previously. Thanx all.

I think PowerDVD is choked half to death with the DRM crap, and I suspect WinDVD is about the same. If you have to deal with Blu-ray discs, there aren't many choices because of DRM. I can play the converted BDs in MKV format with MPC-HC or VLC, but not a BD.

    And I dislike PowerDVD also.

i guess there are no alternatives.

I visited mirillis.com lately, was reading specification of their Splash player and there is Splash PRO BD version with Blu-ray Disc playback feature. But now only BETA version is available.

Arcsoft TotalMedia Extreme or TotalMedia Theatre(trial available) are pretty good blu-ray players.

oh, so there i an alternative but the price is very similar to powrdvd and windvd.

wonder if trial supports BD playback, i think they dont give out AACS keys for trials?

edit: i downloaded and trial version plays BD. nice
