My 2GB flash drive got corrupted and lost 1GB of files - I ran a Windows Scandisk and it recovered all the files but they were default named FILE####.CHK in numerical order - what fun that was to figure out what all 900 files were

You could also try http://officerecovery.com/freeundelete/ - it also worked well for me in the past.

Did you get a "Delayed Write Failed" error at some point? That happens when the drive loses power or signal while trying to write to the drive. It can happen from unplugging the drive during a write or can be from a software failure in the computer. A flash drive isn't like a hard drive for data recovery, but you might try PhotoRec, it seems to work with flash drives: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

But I suspect the damaged parts of the data are not recoverable.
