    Hello,

I have a Popcorn Hour PCH-A110. From time to time, one of my encodes will not play on my PCH-A110. Take this one in particular, Nim's Island. Sounds is fine, but no Picture

I have tried re-muxing it in mkvmergeGUI (latest rev) and even moving the stream IDs up or down... nothing.

I demuxed it and Re-muxed it with tsmuxeRGUI to an m2ts file, this allows me to play it back both audio and video but the audio is badly out of sync ???

Anyhow, I am now trying .ts and see if that works.

Meanwhile, can anyone shed some light on this? Here isthe mediainfo on the original MKV

BTW The file plays fine in VLC and WMP11 with Haali Splitter and ffdshow latest.

I do get this error when trying to re-mux in tsmuxerGUI directly from the original MKV file

    Code:
Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. File name: N:\Movies\Adventure\Nim's Island [2008] BLU-RAY.mkv
When I extract the elementary streams and mux them I do not get the error but I do get the unsynced file

Thank you in advance for any tips.

This file plays and I see both vide and audio... but, the audio is badly out of sync

  3. Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Original frame rate : 23.976 fps
There is a frame rate discrepancy on the 1st file, 25fps vs 23.976fps. You should enter the correct one. When muxing raw tracks you have to manually enter it for mkvmerge, or it will assume 25.

You can override the fps in tsmuxer. Just highlight the video track and use the changefps box

Thanks for the response... I had actually figured this out on my own a little while ago so I am glad to have reassurance I was right.

So I tried just like you said... and no matter what, the resulting MKV kept the darn 25fps and the original fps. So it would play fine in VLC but PCH would barf on the video.

I tried many a variance on the theme of remuxing in both mkvmerge and tsmuxer with every possible combination of fps/rate/etc.

In the end I fixed it by putting the audio stream through eac3to and reducing the fps on the audio track to 23.976 from 25. I asssumed it was too fast because the delay was good at the beginning but got progressively worse at the end. All my .ts and m2ts files played fine (the video) but the audio lagged. So I assumed the audio was at the wrong rate.

Setting the video to 25 fps did NOT help at all.

So, doing the eac3to down to 23.976 fps did the trick. The file is now a m2ts file perfectly synced.

A test mkv also worked out

    Cheers and thanks
