    I am new to subrip and I have no clue if I am doing it right how do I Know if it is working?

    After you used it then open the srt subtitle file using notepad and you should be able to read the subtitles. And click on subrip for some guides.

    I guess I should have been more specific about what I want to do. I want to rip some hardsubs from an avi file so I can edit them, then later attach them to a RAW video. (If i can get that raw by removing the subs from the avi file mentioned so much the better< if not oh well no big deal.)

    I downloaded SubRip, installed it and became totally confused by this ugly interface. I don't understand how to work with it. When I open .SUB (or .IDX) file, it shows another window where I can click "Run". Run what?

    When in another window I click "Save As.." it doesn't show me the name of the file and create NewFile.srt. But I don't know where is it located...

    Please, help me. The software looks extremely ugly. But I don't see any other option for SUB-to-SRT conversion.
