  1. Hi,
I have captured MPG1 using MMC7.1 at 352X240 and various BitRates. I really cannot see a difference in picture quality with BitRate settings above 3. What is the use for setting BitRate higher than that. (I think the scale goes up to 11 !)
Also, what is the advantage of captring at 640X480 (or higher) vs 352X240. On the PC of course the higher resolution gives bigger picture size, but is ther a difference once the output is on a TV screen?
    thanks

  2. Hi there, when I captured at the same size as you did on my card above a bit rate of 3, I didn't see a difference in image quality either.....but when I checked the actual average data rate in premiere, it told me that it was only about 2, I don't know why it does this, but no matter how high I set the capture rate to it still reads only about 2Mbits/s. However, when I captured in 640X480, and set my datarate to 6Mbits/s it actually captured at that rate.....perhaps when you capture at such a small frame size (like 352X240) it simply can't go any higher then 3Mbits/s? (this was just a hypothesis....it could be wrong?)

and yes, when you capture in 640X480 I found there to be a significant difference in image quality when made into a vcd and played on a t.v.,

  3. so what is your "default" settings? 640X480 at bitrate of 6Mbits/sec?
doesnt that give ahuge file? how many minutes can you capture to a 700MB Cd at those settings?
