I'v got for a present this camera: Sony HDR-CX11E
With this camera I'v also got its software and then I realised that I can not do editing in it.
It has only some trimming option but nothing else and it has also an option for to export the movies to mpg. or wmv.
When I am watching my movies in its original software I can see their good quality but when I convert them
becouse I want to edit them (in Premier), I can notice the loss of that quality.

    My question is:
Is there any way for me to keep the quality of my recordings maybe with the help of some converter?
Or a software that is more suitable than Adobe Premier.

This is a small HD camera
The files are m2ts. of its recordings.
    (Sorry for the poor english)

    Thanx!

  2. CS4 is supposed to support AVCHD natively now. This was confirmed by some users on this board

You can use avisynth and the premiere import plugin (there is one comaptible with cs4 now, but also earlier versions work). It is a frameserver, so it feeds frames such that premiere can understand, without a huge intermediate lossless file

Another option is to use a lossless intermediate (e.g lagarith or huffyuv avi) to import, but the intermediate file can be very large
