    Hi everyone,

I have a LCD Samsung Full HD Series 6 32" and a Panasonic Multimedia equip SA-VK760.

I use the Panasonic DVD player to see movies, and I connected the video component out from the Panasonic to the Samsung LCD.

The problem is that when the DVD has a good definition the superior part of the screen bends a little and the big problem is that when there is white in the screen it tilts to the point of the LCD not recognizing the signal.

I tried the Video out (not component just one plug RCA) and it works good without any problem.

I noticed that when the DVD material is not good (not a good definition) the problem does not happen at all.

I hope you can help me.
    Thanks a lot.
    Leonel.

  2. Sounds like bad component cables. Use HDMI?

I have the same TV and have no such problems.

Start by changing the inputs used. If the issue persists, change the cable.
If, with a new cable you still have the problem, try a different player.

If this still fails, return the TV for a replacement.

Thank you all for your quick response.

I am using excellent cables and they are not long, I tried other ones and the same problem persist. Unfortunately, the Panasonic only have composite video and video component output only.

One thing I could try that may help you to help me: I entered the Video menu in the Panasonic and lower the contrast to -7 (all the way down) and doing that the white screens can be seen with no problem, though the little twist in the upper border still remains.

I mean if I lower the contrast that the DVD player is sending to the LCD I can see white screens with no problem, if I turn the contrast up the problem comes back. I dont get it. Could it be that the signal the Panasonic sends is too much and the LCD lose the signal and that's why the message "Component 1" appears on the screen (as if you desconnected the plugs)???

Do you think you can help me better if I upload a photo of the problem?

I can not appreciate your help enough!

    Thanks!

I have a PS3 connected to mine via HDMI, and a DVD player and DVD recorder connected through an AV amplifier, which connects to the TV via component (older amp, pre-HDMI). I can have the contrast up full without any such issues.

I suspect the issue is either with the output of the Panasonic, or the input of the TV. The Samsung has several component inputs, so try each one. If the problem persists, try a different player.

How is the analog component output set?

Argentina uses PAL-N (625/50 subcarrier at 3.58MHz) for TV broadcast. Are you certain both the TV and DVD player are the correct models for Argentina?

The DVD analog component output can be set to 25i or 25p. Try both.

The DVD aspect ratio should be set to 16:9 or "wide".

    Thank you both,

Yes Argentina uses PAL N for TV Broadcast but I am having no problem at all with the TV cable, my problem is only with the movies DVDs that comes in NTSC.

Yes I am sure they are both compatible. In another forum they told me that it could be Macrovision, and I am strating to think about it because I see that in the DVDs that are not commercial, (films Ive made etc) the issue does not appear... I am testing with the beautiful Pixar Short Films DVD and the issue stays all along, but with athers it does not happen...

Any other ideas? How to avoid Macrovision? I am not trying to copy anything, I dont have a VCR in the middle of the conncetion and the LCD Samsung doesnt even have a Video Out,so if it is Macrovision why is it there??!!

    Thanks!

The DVD player may be set to output NTSC when an NTSC disc is played. Look to see if it has a PAL-N output setting.
