Hello, i want to encode my Robotech collection to x264.

I have been looking around, but i can not see a program that would let me select the DVD, select the episodes, and then tell it to compress to a target size, for each episode, and that it would give me the best possible quality for that size.)

Like, if say 350MB, i want each chapter to be about 350MB.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks.

EDIT: for example, i tried FairUse, but it gave me one episode at 350MB, the other at 190MB, etc.

Do you mean CHAPTERS? Not episodes? If the chapters have different runtime they will have different size in fairuse wizard.

WHen I used FairUse Wizard on my Seinfeld dvd episodes I got same size for each.

Handbrake lets you select episodes, or even individual chapters. It also has an animation setting.

Handbrakes looks fine so far ... I only hate i have to add each episode to the queue manually.

I defined 300MB, and the first episode is 273 MB. Why would that be?

Well for x264 300MB seems like overkill for 23min. Your 273MB file should look perfect, does it?

Almost perfect, there are moments where backgrounds seem to "move", like skies ... but in general is very good yes.

You should let the encoder figure it out, rather than put a set MB limit. Those types of programs are made for automation anyway.

But i want a restriction on size. 300 MB at most. I want the program to guess withing certain amount.

Anyway, when i said 300, it game me 275.

    Then i said 250, and i got 230.

And i don't get the second audio. (maybe there is the 20 something dif?)
