Does anyone know how I can hack my philips DVP 3200V/75 to play all regions? I am in New Zealand (region 4) and would like to watch my region 1 dvd's of the office (american version)
I have tried to access a couple of sites listed on forums from 2007 for this player but they are no longer available. Hope someone can help with more recent advice,

    many thanks in advance. M.

You may be out of luck here. Our DVD Players list says that no hack exists for this player. All players can't be hacked. Even Philips, who just a few years ago made almost no players that couldn't be hacked, now seems to be making fewer models that can be hacked. Some current manufacturers, such as Samsung, don't make any models that can be hacked. Hollywood seems to have gotten to almost all of the manufacturers and somehow convinced them to stop making models that can be hacked. I'm really puzzled as to what exactly they think this will accomplish as the end result will surely be even more piracy as people will turn to the internet to get copies of other region discs since buying them won't be an option any more. Do note that you can always rip your DVDs to remove the region coding and re-burn them.

This may be some urban legend that was never true, but I'm curious about something. I'm positive that some years ago I read that supposedly New Zealand had a law that required that all DVD players sold here had to be region free. Was there ever any truth to that? Or was that always false?
