  1. I am using Nero 5.0.3.5 to burn my VCDs. They burn succesfully but when I go to play them in my sony DVD it says NO DISC and it clearly supports VCDs. I'm sorry if this question is ansewrd elsewhere but I could not find it.

    Make sure that your Sony DVD player supports CD-Rs. Depending on how old your player is, it may not support them.

    Another Isue especially with SONY DVD-players is that some models are very sensitive to what brand of CD you feed them.
    Strangely enough CD-RW's usually work, but only some brand CD-R's work.

    Personally I now use Princo CD-R's as they work fine for me (and are quite cheap as wel )
    (Of course not sure wether they're available where you live).
    So use CD-RW's, try the Princo's or do some experimenting with other brands of CD-R's.

    What kind of CD-R media are you trying to get it to read?
