I am trying to author a miniDVD using DVDit (according to the compatibility list my standalone can handle it ). DVDit seems like an awesome progam; however, when I attempt to burn my newly created minidvd I get the following error:
Each GOP header must be preceded by a sequence header.
After searching through the forums on this and other sites (if I understand things correctly) I need to load the DVD template in TMPGEnc > Setting > GOP Structure > Output interval of sequence header: and ensure that it is set to 1, then encode. After a solid week of trying this and all sorts of other things (varing the GOP structure etc.) I have not successfully encoded an mpg that DVDit will accept . If anyone has found a solution I would greatly appreciate a response. thanks

yeah i had alot of problems with TPMGEnc and DVDit, first your right you have to have sequence header set to one. This should get rid of the the GOP error, but there can be other reasons why DVDit wont read the file. Make sure you choose the right kind of file. If your encoding both video and audio use .mpg, if your encoding only video use .m2v, this fixed one of my problems. Check your other settings
Make sure your using "high quality" for settings>video>motion settings"
I use "2-pass VBR" for my rate control mode.
settings>quantize matrix> use mpeg standard, and check output YUV data.
These settings worked for me. there are others im sure,
hope it works. -
Thanks for the reply nfielden. I am trying your settings now. Will post, with the conclusion.

It did not work. I'm beginning to think DVDit is not the program for me. I am still getting the GOP header error!!!!
Can someone recommend a good authoring program for miniDVD? Thanks for any replies -
Definitevely SpruceUp is in my opinion the simplest miniDVD authoring system.
It works great!

Where can I get SpruceUP if it is no longer supported. I don't really want to go through the trouble of learning another program, make two discs and then have my "trial period up" and no way to use the program. Thanks.
