We have a catalog of about 30 DVDs totaling around 62 hours (all content owned by us)
If you wanted to start another website in which you sell these DVDs as online viewable (not downloadable), how would you do it? I've been reading about streaming flash video, but just can't quite figure out where to start?

Study Hulu and Netflix and reverse engineer. Or call in an Abobe sales presentation, or have your tech guy study Flash forums.

If you really want to know, go to a streaming trade show and ask the nerdiest engineer in the booth. Doesn't matter which company, just ask the nerds. They will want to help especially if the woman asking is cute. Make sure she is smart.

  6. You probably want to distinguish between 1) progressive download , aka http streaming, and 2) rtsp streaming

#1 is commonly found like youtube and similar sites. The file is actually downloaded into the temp internet directory. This is more common because ease of use. #2 is more secure and not downloaded (but still can be recorded through crafty tools) #2 is what most paid sites use because of security and bandwidth control.
