Okay, so i want to start recording in 24fps because, in the end, everything gets compressed to 24fps anyway, so why not record in it. The problem is that i put the camera in 24p cinemode and it seems like its recording in 24fps but, when i get it into final cut pro it always asks me if i want to ajust the clip to the project settings and ends up being 29fps. Even when i right click and go to clip properties it says its 29fps. Does anybody know why this is happening??

  2. You can download a mac version of mediainfo here
    http://massanti.com/mediainfo/

It will tell specifications of your original file

If you confirm that it is 24p , it must be a project setting in final cut pro that you forgot to set (I'm on Windows and not familar with Final Cut Pro)

You might find this new MAC laptop easier to use. You wont have to worry about setting up project settings on this puppy. The thing that impresses me about it is how it was designed to suit the typical MAC user's usage style.

The 24F recording mode in the HF100 records as telecined 29.97i to the file. You need to inverse the telecine (remove the field padding) to get to 24p. FCP supports 24PA, and 2:2:2:4 pulldown which are each a different story.

The version of FCP I've used doesn't even support AVCHD let alone 24F AVCHD. Check for the latest update or convert externally.
