Nero - avi to vcd

:( I've been trying to use Nero to convert avi files (movies) that I had downloaded and my computer. I click on the Write CD-Dialog icon and it starts encoding video and then comes back as not responding. I have 256mb of memory PII 350 Win200 Professional. I've used this for smaller files, less than 10mb, and Nero has worked fine. I've shut down all other applications and still can't get it to work.

Do NOT use Nero to encode your AVI's!
Use a professional encoder such as TMPGEnc, AVI2MPG, CCE, LSX, Xing, Panasonic, basicly anything EXCEPT Nero! it is not a professional encoder and your quality will absolutly suck!
