i am having probs with tmpgenc please help

i downloaded an avi file and it plays in media player
but it won't recognise the file in tmpgenc can someone help please
i have tried to decompress the audio (which you have to do on some files)
but it still doesn't recognise it
i get the error (format unsupported)

Try increasing the DirectShow filter priority in the Environmental Settings, and also i would suggest getting and saving a copy of TMPGEnc 12a, it's the best for AVI files.
