Does anyone on here use Corel (Ulead) VideoStudio Pro X2?

I would like to find out how to make my own effects, title, overlays, etc for it.

I have it but have yet to fully play with it. Try Youtube; search for video studio tutorial. That turned up a number of hits, some may be for earlier versions though.

Really ? I put VideoStudio Pro Tutorials into Google and got pages and pages. Top of the list was Corel's online tutorials, including how to do animated titles and scrolling text.

Yeah tutorials for things, but not how to actually make them. You can type text in and choose a title effect. But how do you make a custom title effect? like..... show text and a lit wick on it like a fuse, then it reaches the end and the text explodes in a cool effect.

For effects like rain, you can add rain to your videos, but what if I want to make snow? I need to know how to import custom stuff.

You need to get a proper compositing package like After Effects or Combustion, then spend a lot of time learning how to use it.

He means that Corel is a video editor, not a compositing package like After Effects and Combustion. If I want to do fancy effects like you describe, I have After Effects and Partile Illusion to handle the job. There is a STEEP learning curve with After Effects, and you may need the help of additional plugins, depending on the job. Not to mention that After Effects is expensive and Particle Illusion isn't cheap either.

I just did a short test in Video Studio X2. I imported an AVI file with transparency that was rendered in Particle Illusion and placed it into an overlay track. Then I dropped a video clip onto the video track. Worked fine.
