I know that it's against the rules to discuss politics, but copyright and much of what this site does is political. The main reason is that the detrimental part of politics, religion and The Force is based on fear.
You can us this ext statement for pretty much any theology or ideology:
"If we allow/don't stop (thing that I fear), then it will destroy/prevent us from doing/make unprofitable (unrelated thing that I like to do/participate in)"
It's sad that the first thing that studios do when losing money, to which they constantly cling, is blame piracy or "unauthorized access".
The funniest (or scary) part of that cartoon is that it's not that far off, if at all. It won't be long before the "copyright police" are going into clubs to make sure that not only does the club have authorization to play the music, but each and every individual is paying for the privilege to hear it -
