    is there any way to remove subtitles which are embedded with alltoavi?

    No. There is a guide or two available which can blur them (which I find even more annoying), but they can't be removed, they are now part of the video.

    just as i thought.
    and what about subs added with srt2bmp; i'm sure they can be removed somehow?

    To embed subs with AllToAVI, you need to specifically tell the program to do it.
    Just re-encode the original file without selecting the subtitles.
