    Greetings ...

I am considering getting the Channel Master STEALTH antenna, as it would be a step up from the indoor Radio Shack UHF Bow-Tie I use now. Let me give you my current reception situation.

    Dwelling: Room, 2nd floor
    Location: North Phenix City, AL
    Tuner: Channel Master CM-7000
Antenna: Classic Gold UHF Indoor Bow-Tie from Radio Shack.
Attached to the back is a piece of cardboard with tin foil to make antenna more uni-directional.
Antenna Direction: South-Southeast. It sits next to a window, with only plastic white blinds in its way.
    Pre-Amp: NONE.

Stations regularly picked up .... Signal strength --
    WRBL CBS-3 (DT-15) .. 80%-100%
    WTVM ABC-9 (DT-47 now, going to 11 post 6/12) ... 80%-100%
    WJSP Georgia PBS-28 (DT-23) ... 50%-70%, sometimes 80%
    WLTZ NBC-38 (DT-35) ... 80%-100%
    WGIQ Alabama PBS-43 (DT-44) ... 50%-70%, sometimes 80%
    WXTX Fox-54 (DT-49) ... 80%-100%

Stations sometimes picked up ... Signal strength
    WSFA NBC-12 (DT-14 now, going to 12 post 6/12) ... 20% to 70%, night and early morning
    WAKA CBS-8 (DT-55 now, 42 soon) ... 20% to 70%, night and early morning
    WTVY CBS-4 (DT-36) ... 20% to 60%, night and early morning

Stations picked up one morning when conditions were REALLY in my favor.
    WEAR ABC-3 (DT-17) ... 20% to 50%
    WSRE Pensacola/Florida PBS-23 (DT-31) ... 20% to 50%

I have a feeling that the STEALTH antenna just might work well for me, given my current reception situation. I will even be able to mount it inside my room in the same window, hanging down from the ceiling. What do you think?

    Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Video

Using Walmart's address in your town, TVFool.com returned this plot. Run your address for more detail.

I'm using the Post Transition plot.

Walmart is in a valley with line of site to only one transmitter WLTZ NBC. The others are in various directions and behind the hills. The CM-3010 antenna is directional with a small gain. It is on the weak side and would need constant retargeting and rescan for your tuner. Yours is a tough case. Post your exact address plot and we can try to optimize. I hope you are higher than this Walmart.

Well that looks much stronger. If you point the new antenna about 120 degrees you should get those line of sight (LOS) stations 19 miles or closer. 16 and 23 would probably need the antenna pointed their way.

You may need a roof antenna and rotor to get others. Don't expect to get much from the 2Edge or Tropo stations.

    Greetings ...

When I clicked on WSFA "post-transition" , the transmitter stat read 1.160 KW (Kilowatts) ERP.

I was under the impression that they were applying to transmit on VHF-12 at 31 kilowatts.

What's the story here?? Furthermore, if they do get the A-OK for 31-KW, how does that affect me?
