Alright I have tried all the conversions on here and they are a complete pain. Most of the time it's not what I want or the conversion has failed. I hate having to use 5 programs and have one fail etc. Most likely my fault but hey I want 1 click backups.

I found Alive HD Video Converter after searching for a long time.

1: Use AnyDVD HD/Blu-Ray to rip the blu-ray to your hardrive.

2: Open Alive and click on Add and go to your folder with your blu-ray rip.

It will load right away. Now got to options.

Now I changed output to XviD.avi Since it's a Blu-Ray I made it 1920x1080. I left the Bitrate at 4000kps and everything else as default. As shown in picture. I wanted to test this out first before I went crazy with bitrate and audio.

Now back to main screen and hit convert.

Now I started at 7pm and it ended at 10am. So Not the quickest but considering what I ended up with I am pleasantly surprised.

    I have a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L. E8400 at 3.00ghz. 4gb of 800mhz DDR2

Just wanted to show you guys an easy way I found that has a great end product.

I am upgrading to a P45 board and a Q5550. I am hoping this will cut conversion time a little. I'll convert again over the weekend. Def. a pain not being able to play a game on the comp while this is running.

  2. What happens if main movie is divided in many peaces?
29.976 fps DOES not exist! It should be 23.976

It doesn't divide it into PIECES. Not sure on the 29.976 fps. That's what it did it at. What's the point of splitting a Blu-Ray anyways?

I attempted this with VideoFab and it crashed. I'd rather use that program. Until they work out the bugs this seems like the best bet.

    How much did it cost?
Did you make 2 pass encoding?
Why waste bitrate on black borders when it could be cropped?
@ 29.96fps could waste a lot of bitrate when the movie is only 24fps.
What's the sound quality? DD 640kbps? Can you choose different sound tracks?

Some BD movies come split up to hundreds of small m2ts files instead of one large one, in that case you just have to run it thru TSmuxer to make one file...

    It's $34.95

Does not have an option to do a 2-pass encoding.

    Does not allow for cropping.

I'll try 23.976 tomorrow with my new chip.

The bitrate for the video file goes from 190-12000kbps

For audio I chose 128 kbps and 48000mhz.

Wish I could crop it I know you can do that in another program. I sent them an email with some more questions also. I'll let you know. thanks

    I'm going to say it's MP3 audio.

Their site makes it a little hard to find the answers. Seems like a powerful program that does not give the user many options to worry about.

Seems to me to be a fairly simplistic, one-trick-pony of a program that isn't worth the money being asked.

Xvid4PSP can do all of this, and is free.

BTW, who do you work for ?

I don't work for these guys at all.

    As I previously posted:

I primarily use Ripbot264 with zero issues. It is free and easy to use. Same goes for Xvid4PSP. I made the mistake of paying for a program like this a while ago, a waste of money and did not work as well as the free apps out there.

    I didn't buy it.

Tried Xvid4PSP and it froze up on me. Building a new encoding comp today so I'll do a fresh install of Vista 64-bit and see how Ripbot264 goes.

Don't ask me what's the point of splitting blu-ray because this question should go to movie industry! They like for some unknown reason divide main movie into multiple peaces without logical reason (random sizes and numbers and so on). How are you going to find correct order and good method to combine them in this app???

Why waste bitrate on black borders when it could be cropped?
@ 29.96fps could waste a lot of bitrate when the movie is only 24fps.
Black borders are VERY EASY TO COMPRESS!!! No movement , no texture just simple black color.
29.96fps won't be a waste of bitrate. It will just lead to audio sync issues. Video will finish but audio will be still on.

I assume it is exactly what you mentioned, to force the user to figure out the order and how to combine so it is not as easy as just ripping one m2ts file off the disc with the entire movie. But then again if that is the logic then why don't they do it for all movies, and not just some? Granted, there are programs such as Ripbot264 that handle the multiple files flawlessly (Ripbot264 is the only program I use, brilliant program as I am sure you are aware Atak!!!)

Q9550 at full power. Beautiful! E8400 took 12 hours and this is cutting it in half.
