I converted an avi file that was 2hrs 21 mins and the final DVD output was only 3.10GB.
I know it can be better, but I can't seem to find how to change the bitrate setting. I DID select 4.7GB output - so I want to make use of the remaining space and quality there.
I searched around but did not see any specifics on custom bitrate setting (for version 4 at least).

source > track1 settings >video >re-encode all as below > VBR 2 pass Then adjust your "max bitrate" to 8000 and "bitrate" until the output size bar at the bottom is where you want it......
